Puppies and Slugs

Obviously puppies are better then slugs. Who in their right mind would want to hug a slug?Yuck. Gross. And who in their right mind would not want to smooch a pooch. (Or at least pet a puppy – kissing a canine might be a bit much for some. But you get the point.)Let me ask you this, “are you more like a slug or a puppy?”For some reason many within the church (and many not a part of the church too) liken themselves to slugs. After all the apostle Paul said, “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of the lord.” Slugs. Yuck. Gross. Whereas it is true all have sinned, Paul (he wrote a majority of the New Testament in the Bible) also says that God no longer holds our sins against us. He says, “while we were still sinners Christ died for us.” “If anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. The old is gone, everything is new!” “He destined us for adoption to be his children.” The Bible makes it clear that God sees us more like puppies. He likes us. He loves us. You’re not a slug. You’re a puppy.
