As the year comes to a close we are reminded that everything will end. Nothing (on this earth) will last forever.

Seems kinda sad. After all, saying good-bye is usually difficult. Letting go of the familiar is no fun. Linus had good reason to cling to his trusty ole blanket. Yes, the end of things seems kinda sad.

Yet, if you have your God-goggles on, it also seems kinda hopeful.

Think about it. The end of one thing might mean the introduction to a new, better thing.

I’m wondering if any of you have been holding onto something you need to let go? Could be a relationship, a job, a way of thinking or a number of other things.

Maybe you need to let it go. Let it come to an end. Say good-bye.

For me (among a few other things), it’s writing a weekly blog. For over 3 years I’ve written a blog each Wednesday. I am thankful that so many of you have subjected yourself to a few minutes a week of reading what I have written.

It has been a good experience.

Yet it is time to let it go. I’m letting it go. And I’m kinda hopeful what else might come and takes its place.

How about you? Will you let something come to an end as this year ends?
