C.R.E.E.D. What is C?

By nature, I am unhealthy. Prone to melancholy.

Quick to isolate. Often confused, immobilized and overrun by emotion. As I said – unhealthy. Fortunately, like you, I am more than a conqueror (see Romans 8 my friends). I (we) am (are) not sentenced to let the way it is be the way it always will be. We can overcome and walk in victory. Over the years, I’ve learned the things I must do to stay healthy. There are 5 things. The first letter of each makes up the word CREED. And this will be our focus over the next 5 weeks. Before I proceed, I must disclose that even though I know if I engage in these 5 things, I will be healthy, I don’t always engage in them. Life is full of ups and downs. But I get back up and keep at it. If you embrace the 5, I predict you will not do them perfectly. That’s ok, just get back up and keep at it. CREED.

C: Community. As I mentioned, I am prone to isolate – especially when depression visits. Yet it is wise to go against that natural inclination. When God saw Adam in the Garden, naked and alone, he said, “it’s not good for this dude to be alone.” The first community was formed soon thereafter. We are not meant to do life alone. We need people. When my natural tendency is to move into isolation, I must resist it and fight for community. I recommend you do the same.
