In a day and age when women were devalued, undervalued and often not valued at all, Jesus stood against that nonsense and often had women as the heroes (I should say heroines) of the story. Take that chauvinism! A couple such heroines are Mary and Mary. Technically they are named “Mary Magdalene and the other Mary.” A pair of unlikely MVP’s given the culture. While the men hid and cowered, this bold as a lioness duo set off to the tomb to tend to Jesus’ body. Only to find it wasn’t there for be had risen just he had said!!Mary and Mary ran back to those in hiding and told them the news. When others were scared they were bold. And they were the first in all of time to declare the resurrection of the Lord. I want to be like Mary and Mary.
