Today I pull out our foremost value; the thing we value over and above everything else; our second most repeated phrase (behind, “if you have a pulse, you have issues.”); the truth that is at the core of our faith.
Intimacy. Intimacy between you and God – The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Intimacy defined = close familiarity or friendship, closeness.
This is why God created humans.
This is what was/is behind God’s giving us free choice. This is why Jesus took the nails.
This is why he busted out of the tomb.
This is why Christmas.
This is why Easter.
He came that we might be close to him. Intimacy.
